Senate receives bill seeking to abolish state of origin
The Chairman, Senate Committee on Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Dino Melaye has disclosed that a bill for the abolition of State of Origin in Nigeria has been submitted to Senate.
Melaye who stated this at the unveiling of the 18th anniversary logo of the Peace Corps of Nigeria (PCN) in Abuja called on Nigerians to be united in everything they do instead of victimizing one another.
The lawmaker also commended the Peace Corps of Nigeria, (PCN) over its performance, which, according to him, has endeared them to the National Assembly; hence the need to support the organization.
The FCT committee chairman also said he has gotten assurances from the Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki that the third reading of the PCN bill will be read in the Senate in no distant time
